About

I am the senior reporter at the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker, where I document press freedom violations in the U.S. and by U.S. officials abroad. My freelance reporting and photojournalism covering human rights, identity, and conflict and post-conflict issues has been published by Al Jazeera, Open Democracy, Columbia Journalism Review, Balkan Diskurs, and Muftah, among others. I also accept research, data analysis and editorial assignments.

I have previously worked as a researcher and reporter for the Committee to Protect Journalists and Post-Conflict Research Center, and as an assistant editor for Civic Ideas and the Journal for Political Inquiry. I hold master’s degrees in journalism and international relations from New York University and bachelor’s degrees in anthropology and international relations from the College of Wooster.

Though currently living in New York City, I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as an avid green chile lover, reader, hiker and crafter.
